Kent Tawes is a full time Home Inspector with over 20 years experience in residential construction and real estate. I hold licenses in good standing as a NC Real Estate Broker, NC Licensed General Contractor and NC Licensed Home Inspector. I am also a FEMA approved contractor performing inspections for FEMA’s Individuals and Houshold’s Program for declared Federal disasters.

I keep current with industry changes through field work, 16 hours of continuing education annually as a Home Inspector, 8 hours of continuing education annually as a Real Estate Broker, ongoing new construction updates and through Parsons Brinkerhoff Engineering for the FEMA program.

My goal is to provide the client with a comprehensive visual inspection and written report of the subject property written in a positive, constructive way that is not alarmist or pessimistic. My reports are written in a descriptive but to the point manner, determining the defects with an implication of the problem and directing a course of action to be taken while maintaining a positive tone.

To avoid conflicts of interest I do not solicit repair work, sell home warranties or pay to be listed as a "preferred inspector" for any Realtor or Company. This way clients can feel confident they are getting a complete, honest representation of the maintenance and repair needs of the subject property.
